What's New in MBD for ANSYS 19.2

1. Error messages in Messages window

  • When error exists in the Details, error messages are displayed in the messages window

2.
Intuitive labels for the coordinate systems input

  • More intuitive Labels are used in the Definition.
    • Base/Action can be explicitly described.

3. Exception handling for the name, 'Ground'

  • 'Ground' is the pre-defined name which is internally used by MBD for ANSYS. The exception handling was added.
    • If user uses the name ‘Ground’ in Design Modeler: the names are automatically converted to other name when entering MBD for ANSYS system. (Ground_1, Ground_2, …)

    • If the user uses the name, ‘Ground’ to any entity: the following warning is shown. (when solve is clicked)

4. Various bug fixes to improve the stability

  • Fixed a decimal marker problem which can occur when German language setting is used (in Load Transfer)
  • Compatibility with the SpaceClaim was improved
  • Exception handling for the unsupported entities in SpaceClaim
    •  An error will occur during the simulation if special entities such as origins, points, axes, planes, etc. are included in the SpaceClaim model. These special entities cannot be handled by MBD for ANSYS. These objects should be deleted in the SpaceClaim model in order to solve in MBD for ANSYS. A file (“InvalidGeometryInformation.txt”) will be created that contains information about which entities need to be deleted.

  • And other bug fixes…

5. Simulink interface Updates

  • MATLAB/Simulink 2018b is now officially supported.
    • Interface 3.0 needs to be used.
  • To avoid the version mismatch problem, Plant Block M-File filename will be overwritten whenever the user runs a simulation.
