After performing analysis on RecurDyn, you can change parameters or create a new entity. In this case, the animation controls are deactivated.

At this time, you can import a rad file (or a ran file) or click the [Reload the last animation file] button to reactivate the animation. But, sometimes, the following error message is displayed and the animation is not activated.

Animation-Error

Basically, the numbers of bodies and subsystems should match those of the current model when you import a rad or ran file. If the numbers are different, RecurDyn recognizes it as a different model and does not import the animation file.

One more thing to note is that the number of floating markers should match that of the current model as well.

Floating markers are created internally when there is PTCV, CVCV, translational force, rotational force, or screw force. Simply put, the numbers of the following entities should match those of the current model to import an animation file.

1) The number of bodies

2) The number of subsystems

3) The number of PTCVs

4) The number of CVCVs

5) Trasnlational Force

6) Rotational Force

7) Screw Force

That is, you can import an animation file even if a marker, joint, force or contact is added or deleted or if the parameters are changed.
