The process of performing a co-simulation for independent particle solver follows.
1. Creates a RecurDyn model.
2. Creates walls from geometry in RcurDyn.
3. Exports the walls from RecurDyn.
4. Builds the particle model in the particle solver.
5. Imports the walls into the particle model in particle solver.
• When building the Particle Model and importing the Walls into the Particle Solver, follow the instructions of the particle solver to build the particle model. At some point in the creation of the particle model, the user will need to import the wall geometry into the particle model. Please see the particle solver documentation to find more information about this process. Typically, the user is expected to choose the master wall file created specifically for the particle solver, and then the particle solver can automatically import all of the walls.
6. Prepares for the co-simulation in particle solver.
7. Runs the co-simulation from RecurDyn.
• The particles simulation data is created in output folder. If the user simulates two or more RecurDyn model in same location without Create Output Folder option, the particles simulation data is overwritten in same output folder. To use Create Output Folder option, click here.
8. Uses Post-Process in RecurDyn and the particle solver.
• After the simulation is finished, the simulation results can be viewed in RecurDyn’s GUI and RecurDyn can be used for post processing of both the rigid and flexible body model as well as certain aspects of the particle model. The particle solver should be able to perform its normal post processing of the particle model.
