Material Property

 

The Material Property dialog box is shown clicking Material Property in the Beam Belt dialog box. And the parameters are explained below.

     Damping Ratio(img11.gif): Defines the damping ratio. It has the:

    Structural damping ratio of the beam

    The damping C is computed from the following equation.

 

     Young's Modulus: Defines the young's modulus of beam assembly

     Shear Modulus: Defines the shear modulus of beam assembly.

     Poisson’s Ratio: Defines the poisson's ratio of beam assembly.

     Update Area Property: Automatically calculates the Moment of Area and Cross Section Area.

     Ixx, Iyy, Izz: Defines the moment of area of beam assembly.

     Shear Area Factor : Defaines the shear area factors Asy and Asz.

     Cross Section Area: Defines the cross-section area of beam assembly.

     Stress Recovery Points: Defines the y locations in element coordinates relative to the beam center line for stress data recovery. Default value is calculated with Thickness/2.0.
